Westmont
Four Westmont student venture teams participate in the 21st annual Westmont Collegiate Entrepreneurs Business Plan Competition Thursday, Dec. 9, from 5-8 p.m. at the Darling Foundation Lecture Hall in Westmont’s Winter Hall (Room 210). The event is free and open to the public. Here's a campus map.
Thirty students in Ron Bristol’s entrepreneurship class formed 10 venture teams that have been whittled down to the final four. The teams will present their business plans to a panel of judges: Eli Eisenberg of Straight Line Management in Agoura Hills, Susan Block, a boutique investment banker with Block-Bowman & Associates in Santa Barbara, Jim Andelman, a principal in Rincon Venture Partners in Santa Barbara, and Fritz Harnsberger, principal in Marathon Investments in Montecito.
Bristol, a 1987 Westmont alumnus, is teaching fulltime this semester while David Newton, professor of entrepreneurial finance, is on sabbatical. Bristol, founder and principal of New Path Capital Advisors in Colorado, earned a master’s degree in business administration from Cornell University and has worked in financial advising/consulting for more than 20 years.
Refreshments and networking begin at 5 p.m. with the first presentation at 5:30 p.m. The evening concludes around 7:30 p.m.
