Getty Curator Reveals Rembrandt, Models

Anne Woollett, associate curator in the department of paintings at the J. Paul Getty Museum, will discuss “In the Guise of Art: Rembrandt and His Models,” Thursday, Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. in Westmont’s Founders Dining Room. Her talk, which is free and open to the public, is presented in conjunction with “Sordid and Sacred: The Beggars in Rembrandt’s Etchings” on display in Reynolds Gallery through October. A specialist in Northern Painting before 1700, Woollett has authored several books on late 16th-century Flemish painting, including “Rembrandt in Southern California” and “Rembrandt’s Late Religious Portraits.” She organized exhibitions at the Getty Center including “Making a Renaissance Painting,” “Rembrandt’s Late Religious Portraits” and “Rubens and Brueghel: A Working Friendship.” She recently lectured about Rembrandt at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and the Timken Museum of Art in San Diego.
