Student Musicians to Shine in November

Westmont student composers, vocalists and instrumentalists showcase their talents in several concerts this November. All performances are free and open to the public.
The new works of student composers highlight the Composers Concert on Friday, Nov. 4, at 8 p.m. in Deane Chapel. The concert features an eclectic mix of string, vocal and piano pieces performed by the composers and fellow students. Emilee Letsinger ’15 has composed “Evening Park,” which will be performed by Kristabel Stark ’14 (violin), Rebecca Shasberger ’15 (cello) and Emily Rutherford ’15 (cello). Jake Elliott ’15 has composed “The Heather,” which will be performed by Ben Offringa ’14 (tenor) and Filipp Kozachuk ’15 (piano). Cellist Daniel Gee ’13 has composed Trio No. 1 and will perform with Madison Martin ’12 (violin) and Neil Di Maggio (piano). Additional composers will be presenting pieces as well.
The Wind Ensemble Concert is Sunday, Nov. 13, at 3 p.m. in Deane Chapel under the direction of Paul Mori, adjunct professor of music.
The String Chamber Ensemble Concert is Friday, Nov. 18, at 8 p.m. in Deane Chapel.
The Vocal Chamber Concert, under the direction of associate professor of music Grey Brothers, is Sunday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. in Deane Chapel.
