Talk Takes an Ethnic Look at Christianity
By
Westmont
Korean-American Sandy Lee Schaupp discusses how her Christian beliefs have shaped her dreams in a lecture, “Trading in the American Dream for Kingdom Dreams: An Asian American Woman’s Journey with Jesus,” Tuesday, April 21, at 7 p.m. in Hieronymus Lounge in Westmont’s Kerrwood Hall. The talk is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
Schaupp, who has been a staff member with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship for 15 years, will discuss her vocation, leadership experiences, marriage and family, and multiethnicity. She provides pastoral care for fellow InterVarsity staff members and serves on the National Asian American Coordinating Team. She and her husband, Doug, have three children: Mark, 10; David, 7; and Stephanie, 4.
“She is passionate about empowering ethnic minority students and staff while journeying with people in their healing and growth with Jesus,” says Elena Yee, Westmont director of intercultural programs.
The lecture is co-sponsored by Intercultural Programs and the Asian Student Association.
