Youth Sports Camps to Play on New Fields

Westmont
Online registration is open for Westmont’s popular summer sports camps, which will enjoy new or newly remodeled athletic facilities. All camps, which begin June 13 and run through July 29, start at 9 a.m. and cost $225 or $250. The price includes a camp T-shirt, photo and instruction by Westmont coaches as well as current and former Westmont student-athletes. Campers also have the opportunity to swim in the Westmont pool throughout the week.
Kristi Kiely, camp co-director and head women’s soccer coach, says baseball, track and field, tennis and soccer camps will use new facilities. “Not only do the new facilities provide for a more professional environment, they are state-of-the-art and give you the greatest opportunity for growth as an athlete,” she says.
Westmont is also returning to all-day camps. Basketball, tennis, soccer and baseball camps will run until 3 p.m. “We want to be able to work longer with the kids in our camps, introduce them to more of our environment, as well as provide an opportunity for parents who work to put their kids in camp,” Kiely says.
Campers will be required to bring a sack lunch while Westmont’s Dining Commons undergoes a summer renovation.
Registration and information about age restrictions are available online. Space is limited, and all camps are expected to fill up quickly. For more information, please call the athletics department at (805) 565-6010.
